according to one of the realtors we used, sometimes you can tell from the MLSLI number. if it's very low compared to new listings, it might have been on the market awhile. but some realtors know that, so they will change something, and relist it - so that's really not the most concrete way!

The thing that annoys me about MLSLI is that sometimes they'll leave the listing on long after an offer has been accepted and contracts have been signed just to get you to inquire about it!

Disneygirl, A lot of realtors do that. They even do it on their websites for their companies. I cannot tell you how many realtors I called who had houses listed that were sold a year ago - thats how they think they get the people in, but when i saw that I would steer clear of that agent.
