Someone make me feel better
Please...someone tell me they went into labor shortly after the dr. told them they weren't dialted or anything!!
I know I am only three days late - but I am looking for some hope :)
I am having contractions but I am not dialated at all (although I am effacing)
Did anyone go into labor NOT dialated?

me neither- they say that the first child its not that common to actually dialate that quickly until labor really begins.

Re: Someone make me feel better
Yep. very true and I was also told that effacement would truly determine when labor would begin as opposed to dilation.

Yes - I think I read that for first timers, you have to efface before you dialate...

I did! Then they gave me Stadol to speed it up and it worked... I was 6 days late.

Re: Someone make me feel better
I had contractions and lost myplug...the doctor said I wasn't dialated at all. I had DS the next day. When I finally got to the hospital I was already 5 cm dialated, but the contractions were still the same amount apart. Its definitely not an exact science!!
GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Someone make me feel better
I had my last appt with the doctor and he said it would be a while as I was 1 cm dialated. My water broke the next afternoon and DS was born about seven hours later. You never know!
