Re: does anyone have a washer/dryer combo unit?
I think I have the one you're talking about. We are in a condo so while I still find it small it's great to have something right there in the place so I don't have to make frequent trips to the laundromat.
my washer is on the bottom with the dryer on top.
for us it's perfect and if I have really big things (i.e. comforter I go to my mom's or MIL's and use theirs)

Re: does anyone have a washer/dryer combo unit?
Someone in the building i used to live in had one and I considered getting one - but they told me that all of their clothes had a burnt smell to them after they washed them in it. If you can find one with a good review online though - i think it would be great.....

Which one do you have? We're in a co-op now too and we'd love to get a small one.

Are you talking about the washer/dryer units where one is on top of the other, or the ones where they wash and dry in the same unit? If you're talking about the latter - DON'T!!! You can never dry as much as you've just washed, everything comes out completely wrinkled and you can't wash while you dry.
I guess they're fine if you're one person with very tiny clothes that don't get washed very often...but we had one in an apartment taht we were in and I just found it really impractical.

We had one in Ireland and it was terrible. I had to iron the sheets and clothes took hours to dry. Defintely don't get one that is a single unit.

Yeah- that's what I was talking about- I thought it could be good b/c you don't need a drier vent. I guess it's that or nothing (nothing meaning continuing to drop off to the laundromat- we rent, so I didnt' want to spend tons of $$$)

I don't know if you have these in the states, but in the UK you can get a condenser dryer, you don't have to have a vent for those. It has a bottle that collects the moisture and you have to empty it on a regular basis.
The washer dryer combo's are horrid.

Re: does anyone have a washer/dryer combo unit?
We had a combo washer/dryer by Haier in our apartment. It was actually really great, but it took a LONG time (nearly 4 hours to wash and dry) to do a load and the loads had to be on the smaller side. Image Attachment(s):
