Kitchen Counter tops
Other than Lowes, is there a better place to buy a Laminate Countertop? We got a good price at Lowes, but I was wondering if there was a better place to order one at?
The one we are interested in sort of looks like Black Granite, and there is also one other that has black, brown, green, and I think reds in it and it looks just like Granite.

Lowes charges $17 a foot
Home depot charges $27 a foot for the same countertop, Special ordered.

We had a guy out east make ours. I think the one you are first describing is the one that I got. Will find out if he is still doing it on the side(He is an oil man during the day) and if he is will send him your #.
That is a big difference between home depot and lowes...
What about Consumers? Not sure if they do but that is where we got our cabinets from.

$17 sounds pretty low. I guess you could break out the yellow pages to see if there's someone local who'll do it for you.

My father in law said it isnt hard to install - just a nightmare to remove the sink. Looks like we are going to do the install

My father in law said it isnt hard to install - just a nightmare to remove the sink. Looks like we are going to do the install

Scott this is one of our projects because our counter is pink..  HATE IT. What do you mean by Laminate? We saw ones in home depot that look almost like big sheets that you just glue down.

We ordered a black Formica counter top - Looks like Granite from Lowes....Costs around $150 to have it special ordered......

That is what our counter top looks like.
We went to Lowes on Sunday and spoke to Michael at the desk in the kitchen section. He told us what measurements we would need to take, we did that and went back tonight to order the counter. We will have it to pick up on friday.

we're going to be doing the same thing? was a little nervous about the sink removal, but i think we're going to tackle it!!
i have country bkue formica right now!!! ugh
we are gong for the copper tin backsplash!!!
