My 9 month old niece is in the hospital being tested for Meningitis
She got rushed to the ER this morning with 104 fever, rash all over and a swollen head. They haven't ruled out Meningitis (sp) yet. Should I be concerned, I was with her about a week ago??

Sending you prayers and hugs!
My 9 month old neice was in the hospital last week for dehydration. She was vomitting and had diarrhea with fever. She was in there 3 days.

First of all, I'm so sorry that your niece is sick. I hope she's feeling better in no time.
As far as you go, I don't know if I would be too concerned yet. Once they determine what is wrong with your niece, be sure to call your Dr. and let him/her know. I'm sure they will tell you not to worry, but better to let them know of anything you may have been exposed to.

I just spoke to my OB and she said to just sit tight and wait for the diagnosis but in the meantime NOT to visit her and limit exposure to my sister-in-law. I can't imagine how scary this must be for my SIL and BIL. Thanks for your and

My sister was exposed to Menegitis during her 1st trimester, her OB said as long it was viral menegitis, she didn't have to worry, but could not visit the person.
Praying it all works out for you and your family.

My mom said the same thing happened to me as an infant. They had to do a spinal tap and it was pretty scary, but I was okay!
I hope all is well for your niece!!
