Anyone know how to bake a potato in the microwave?
Does it need to be wrapped and how long does it cook for??

I haven't done it in a long time so I might be off on the amount of time it needs but poke holes in it with a fork and wrap it in a paper towel. I want to say 6 minutes but I really don't remember.

I never wrapped mine when I cook them-usually around 6-7 mins.

i just poke some holes with a fork and wrap it in a papertowel then nuke for approx 10 minutes on high-for a med size potato...after i take it out i sometimes wrap it in foil

I don't wrap mine, but I do clean and poke them.
I'm not sure on the time because our microwave has a baked potato button (and I never pay attention to the time)

I made one last night. I washed, poked holes in it and wrapped it in a paper towel. I have an "auto cook" thing for a baked potato. mine takes 11 minutes  but it's a small lower wattage microwave.

I POKE IT THEN HEAT IN THE MICROWAVE FOR 5 MINUTES
THEN I WRAP IN FOIL AND PUT IN THE TOASTER OVER AT 400 DEGREES UNTIL ITS SOFT AND BROWNED
