Did you bring your DH to the first doctor's visit?
I am seeing my doctor at about 6 weeks. What happens on the first visit? Thanks! My DH has offerred to come, but I don't know if it is something that he needs to be at. I know he want come to all my visits, so I guess I want to pick the important ones. Thanks!

They do history (my doc did mine and DH to look for potential problems) and a sono which Im sure your DH would love to see!

He must be at the first doctor's appointment! They will do an internal sonogram/exam (it's not painful) - and you will get to see a heartbeat (I saw my baby's heartbeat at 7 weeks, not sure if 6 weeks is early though). The doctors will be able to tell you if its a healthy pregnancy and they will be able to answer any questions you will have.
My DH insists on being there at all my appointments, and im so happy he's right by my side.

I brought DH for a few reasons. First I was afraid to go by myself and God forbid anything was wrong, I knew I would need him there. I also knew he would love to see the u/s AND I needed him there for my blood test b/c I'm a baby.

Not to my first doctor visit, but that's because it was just an internal exam and they drew blood. DH came to all the ultrasound appointments, and a few Dr. visits throughout the pregnancy just to become familiar with the practice...

They do a family history at the first visit (or at least my Dr did) so it is important that your DH be there.

DH came with me to my first appointment. They did a history and I had an internal sonogram, so I was glad that he came.

I haven't gone to my first appointment yet, but DH isn't going to join me.. I didn't ask him to rearrange his schedule and I don't really think I need to
I should be OK on my own, and the doctor's office even told me that it wasn't absolutely necessary that he be there..
For the appointment following, however (such as sonos) I know he'll be there

DH came to my 1st appointment, but they just did an internal, medical history, and blood work. They didn't do a sonogram. I'm glad he was there, but it totally wasn't necessary. It was just like a regular gyno exam. I told him he shouldn't come with me next time, but I want him to be there when I finally get a sono.

I brought Dh b\c on my normal gyn appt I was told I was pregnant but that the heartbeat was very slow. When I went back for my official first ob appt. I needed DH there for support. He got to meet the Dr. and ask questions, and luckily our little baby bumbleb was as strong as could be. We did wait for almost 3 hours in the waiting room. I told DH he didn't need to come to all of them. He will be coming in a few weeks for my level II when we find out the sex.

DH came to every one of my appointments, though he didn't actually come into the room with me at the last 2. Mostly, he came for moral support, but he also wanted to be there for the big stuff like seeing the sonograms and hearing the heartbeat.

I would call and ask if you get an ultrasound if not it might be boring for DH. I have only brought DH to my ultrasound appointments. The rest are kind of boring IMO.

I wish I did, I had an internal sonogram to confirm the pregnancy and thats when the Doctor saw I was having twins. So my DH missed out on that moment.

DH did not come with me to my first appt. My first appt was to confirm the PG (blood test) at almost 5 weeks. At 8 weeks I had my first sonogram and DH did come for that one.

Same..I spared my DH the internal! He came to all my sonograms though
