Got my doula!! WOOHOO
very excited about it....and it's FREE since she has to do 3 trials first!! I hope the dr's are ok with it and that the hopital allows that many people in the room!

That's great. Just run it by your doctor. Sometimes the hospital has a limit to the number of people in the room.

a doula aids in the laboring process (there are also after birth doulas that come to your house to help you and your family adjust). They use techniques to keep you calm, etc. which will come in handy for us since I know DH will be a mess!!

probably Lora....if she needed to be paid but because she's doing trials, I don't have to pay her.
Check with your insurance company about all the extras, doulas, midwives, lactation consultants after you come home, or a baby nurse!

Most insurances will not cover a doula. Ours was $500 but well worth it for me because I wanted natural childbirth. Our lactation consultant is not covered either. I am sure every insurance is different but most don't cover these services. Midwives fall under physicans, nurse practicioners, etc. so they would be covered.

We had thought about looking into a doula. Do you know where I may be able to find a free one who has to do trials as well?
