Re: Anyone have a cockapoo??

there is not much anyone can say about them since tehy arent real breeds, therefor there is no breed standard or temperment.

if you want one of these deisgner dogs please adopt one! there are plenty of them on petfinder.

please do not buy from a person who breeds these that calls themselves a "breeder".... anyone who purposely breeds mixes is a big no-no! and either a backyard breeder or even a puppymiller!

good luck in your doggy endeavours! if you need help i'd be happy to help!

eta: please never buy from a pet shop!!!! these places are pure evil! (you can find out more why by reading up/googling "puppymills")

Re: Anyone have a cockapoo??

Hi. We have a cockapoo and so does my nephew. They are both very smart and friendly. Neither is possesive, nor overly destructive. My nepehew's is 10 months and still not fully potty trained, but I think that is not the puppy's fault, but that he hasn't been properly trained. Mine is fully house broken and knows general commands. We both purchased from petshops, but if I was to get another one I would look into adopting. I have seen them on petfinders. If you have any questions feel free to fm me.

ETA: They range in sizes depending on what type of poodle the parent was. Mine is I guess was a mini poodle, he's only about 15lbs and probably won't be more than 20-22lbs.

Although I do see that you are going to adopt for your next pup, I have to reiterate: Please do not purchase a dog from a pet shop. They come from puppy mills. Please do not buy a dog that you cannot verify the linage, even if the person *claims* to be a responsible breeder. I am very disturbed that someone sold you a dog without you knowing what kind of poodle was used to breed your dog. The temperament for a Standard Poodle, for example is way different than that of a toy.

Please continue to consider adoption first.

Yeah... they were both impulse purchases and no research was done. Honestly never heard of the issues with purchasing from petshops until I started looking here.

Re: Anyone have a cockapoo??

My aunt has a cockapoo and his name is Sparkie. They have had him since he was a puppy and he is so cute. He did pee in the house for a while....and they nicknamed hi "pee-pee dog", but they did eventually break him of that habit.

Good Luck. I think cockaposs are so cute. Chat Icon

look on petfinder.org or check shelters.

sont buy form pet shops as they are all puppymill dogs there...

and steer away from any "breeders" who breed this dog. they should not be bred and if they are breeding them it is purely to make money

From a breeder in PA. (Not a breeder I would recommend since her dog ended up having worms.)

Her dog is a cutey though! Lots of personality!
