Housewarming Party Question

We are starting to plan our housewarming. We aren't sure who to invite or how big it should be. We'll definitely invite parents/siblings/close friends. Should we invite Aunts/Uncles/Cousins/any coworkers?

Not sure how it works for housewarmings do people just pop in for an hour? Hang out for a full meal? What time do they usually start?

We're considering doing it close to Halloween and calling it a "haunted house warming".

Please share how yours went if you can.

Re: Housewarming Party Question

The ones I have been to start at a certain time all day and kind of last until people feel like leaving. I wouldn't do a sit down dinner thing.. too much pressure for you plus not everyone shows up and leaves at the same time.

What about a buffet so people eat when they want?

I would invite anyone you feel comfortable invitingChat Icon

Re: Housewarming Party Question

How about making it an "open house" type of thing? it would start at a certain time and people can come/go when they feel like it. A buffet might be best.

good luck

Re: Housewarming Party Question

I like the haunted housewarming idea or you can do a fall theme, rather then a halloween one. Ours was in the summer and we had a bbq, it went great. We invited aunts, uncles, and other close relatives too. We didn't invite coworkers because we both worked in NYC. But if you socialize with them outside of work, why not.

I would do lots of apps and finger foods. If you do an open house, i would do wraps and stuff that no matter when people come you have stuff.
