Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

On days you want to let your hair air dry, what products do you use? I use a little alcohol-free mousse and put it in a loose bun, but "good" hair is so hit or miss for me when I air dry! What do you use?

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

I use several different products. Most are from the L'oreal studio fix line. I start with their anti frizz creme, then use the springing curls spray, then add a little mousse. I let it dry and add just a touch of Aveda's Brilliant finishing gloss. The key for me is finding just the right balance of product so that my hair is still bouncy and soft instead of crunchy.

I have naturally curly hair and I almost never let it dry naturally - it just doesn't "work", but if I had to do it I would put gel and when it dried I would use a texturizer to take the frizz out.

I use Nexus Humectress (great leave in conditioner). Then I blow dry my hair.

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

i blow my hair straight. I use By Wio Framesi Strait Balm. This stuff leaves my hair so smooth and healthy looking, even after blowing it dry.

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

Ouidad climate control gel. It's not as thick as regular gel, and doesn't get flaky.

I use Pantene Curl Revive Conditioner & LA Looks frizz control gel. Most days I use a diffuser when I blow dry, then stick it in a bun for maximum setting style.

Anti-humectant pomade from Aveda, and/or
some other liquid glossy thing from Aveda in a light blue bottle with a pump.

Love Aveda for wavy/curly!

I love this stuff too! It was what I used before I went to an Aveda salon, but if I wasn't getting my hair cut there I'd still use the Ouidad product. It's great!

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

aveda be curly - or loreal springing curls.

i also found for me that if i sleep with the towel still wrapped around my wet hair - when i wake up - my curls are almost always perfect. i also think that is probably because i am not fussing with the bun all day. Chat Icon

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

My hair USUALLY looks better naturally dried but I have to refrain from touching it because one touch=instant frizz

I have gotten my haircut at Ouidad for the past 9 years, and although I love the cuts, I have learned that the products are a bot overpriced (ok, alot overpriced) and there are comprable products out there that do the same or sometimes even a better job at styling curly hair. I love their deep conditioner!!!

BTW- you need to learn how to work with the products or they don't work correctly. Ouidad has cut my her herself and she taught me how to use the product and it makes a difference.

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

I usually just use spray gel. It sometimes is a little crunchy, but after it's dried, (I sometimes air dry but usually blow it a little) I can sort of break up the crunch a little by squeezing it.
I can never seem to use a regular gel or mousse b/c while trying to get it through all my hair, I end up breaking up the curl and can never get it back. How do you guys get the product throughly in your hair w/o making it end up frizzy?
This is why I mostly straighten it.

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

I use FX Curls Up and a diffuser.
Sometimes I use gel and a little mousse then the diffuser.
Depends how soft I want it that day or the weather.

Re: Girls w/naturally wavy hair, question:

I used alcohol-free mousse, as well as a frizz control serum to coat the curls. It makes a BIG difference than just mousse.
