When can you tell a baby's eye color?
My niece is 5 weeks old and her eyes look like their going to be blue. They were a grey when she was born, when will we know for sure the color they'll be?

You can tell usually by around 6 months, but they lighten up a little over time. My son's eyes were dark brown from day 1. They say that all babies are born with blue eyes... they were wrong! "They" were wrong about a lot of things!

my son is almost 10 months...and up until this past weekend his eyes were green...now they are getting darker and appear more brown.
I asked my son's optomoligist how long it takes to change and he said usually changes within a month or 2 but he has had patients change colors up until a yr old

From what I read - usually by 6 months they are set but can change even up to a year. My son's are still pretty blue - they turned to a deeper brighter blue too - they are really pretty. My doctor looked at them and said they look like they may stay but I think it is doubtful since DH and I have such dark/deep brown eyes...but you never know bothof our fmailes do have some traces of lighter eyes.

My son too, he was born with the blackest eyes, and he still has them!

I am curious too - my son had very blue eyes up until about 7 months....now they are greenish hazel. He is almost 9 months - DH and I both have brown eyes, so it is doubtful that they will be anything other than brown, but so far no brown. Dr. says up to a year they can change...
