Excessive bleeding-maybe TMI-(Very Long!)

I started bleeding on 02/24 but did not get the real heavy AF until Sunday, 03/04. I had a Dr's appt for my annual on 03/09. I bleed heavily Monday and Tuesday, and called the dr and asked him if I could come in during the day because it has already been almost 2 weeks and in January, I bleed straight through for 21 days. I did not get anything in February. He wanted to do a biopsy, but the last time he did one, it hurt like **ll and I told him that there was absolutely no way I would let him do it again unless I was completely knocked out. So he gives me two choices, a DNC or Provera 10mg x 14 days. He talked me in to the second choice even though they have tried the Provera with me in the past and it never lasts more that a few months. He also gave me Lo-Estrol and told me that if the bleeding didn't stop with the Provera, he would do a DNC or if I spotted heavy through the second cycle of BCP, he would do the DNC. WHY HE DIDN'T JUST DO THE DNC, I WILL NEVER KNOW! I have been through all of this before... He also told me that this is all hormonal and he wants me on the BCP until I am ready to TTC again for #2 which is when I will start the Clomid and then pretty much stay on them until menopause. He told me Jules is a miracle because I may go months or years with out ovulating and I must have just been a very lucky person to be doing the right thing at the right time.

I bleed heavily from Monday until today when I attempted to go to work. By 10 am, it went through my clothes. Called the dr and he took me right in. HE WANTED TO DO A MEMBRANE SCRAPING IN THE OFFICE WITHOUT ANY ANESTHESIA RIGHT IN THE OFFICE! IS HE CRAZY? I freaked out again, he stopped, stopped the Provera and has me on 3 BCP a day for 7 days, then skip the green pills and go right in to a new pack for an addl 21 days.
If the bleeding doesn't stop by Monday, he will schedule a DNC for Tuesday. Apparently, I do not have the estrogen to release the egg to get a period, and this irregular bleeding is not AF's, just my body trying to get rid of all the blood accumulating in my uterus... (SOrry, I told you this may be TMI!) It has no place left to go but out. I am supposed to be in bed with my legs up and ice on my lower stomach just like I did after I gave birth.

Does anyone else have this problem where they have "AF" for what seems like forever?

This happened to me when I was 18. I bled very heavily for 2 plus weeks! I was told it was a hormonal imbalance and put on bcp's. It never happened again.

I would have that when I was on BCP and would skip the placebo week. I would bleed for 15-20 straight days!! My doctor said it was a hormonal build-up and at a certain point the body can't handle anymore and just gets rid of it.

When I was in college, I bled everyday for 5 months actually. My doctor told me my body was regulating itself and that it would stop eventually.
After 5 months, I broke down and told him I was going on BC and it finally stopped....the very next day.
It doesn't sound like it is as severe as your bleeding though - some days wouold be like a heavy period, and others it was lighter...

It's no better today. Just naseaus from the triple dose of pills. I love my DR, but she wasn't there, so I had to go to the man DR who I hate. I think if I would have gone to here, she would have taken care of it from the beginning...

Thank you. I am not sure if it's because of the extra hormones, but I am wired right now. I am supposed to be resting and I just cleaned the all of the bathroom grout with a toothbrush.
