My DR. did an internal today and didn't mention anything about dilation, but she did say the baby's head was REALLY low and that my cervix was behind his head so she couldn't get at it. What the heck does that mean?

I dont know what that means, but I wanted to share that yesterday I was also told that the babies head was SOOOO low, it was like basically he said " what it should be if I were 39 weeks not 35" but that he wasnt concerned at all about it.. He WAS able to tell me though that I was not dialated at all and my cervix was nice and tightly closed.... Maybe call and question it?

I would think the cervix would be below the babies head not behind it bc if it were behind it then wouldnt the babies head be exposed...hmmm... maybe u misunderstood. Obviously it wasnt a big concern bc they would have done something. I would call them and ask.

Hmm I honestly don't know what that means.. I didn't think the baby's head being low could block your cervix, but maybe it's possible As the other ladies said I would call back and ask for more info perhaps
I have been carrying high all along. When I had my first internal the doctor told me was head down but he was not very "low" .. yet my cervix was a fingertip dilated (that was 35 wks)
The following week at my 2nd internal, I went to 2cm dialated which shocked me! The baby was still head down BUT she STILL did not consider him low (meaning I wasn't about to go into labor anytime soon)
I haven't lost my plug or anything else weird .. only thing I've been having is more cramping/braxton hicks but nothing consistent.
Its frustrating not to get a better idea of what is happening though! All these doctors have their quirks. My doctor doesn't do growth sonos and is only doing one next week on me because I insisted!
