anybody not happy with their xmas gift from dh/fh/bf?

i'm soooo disappointed in my gift from dh
its was a bunch of stuff from victoria secret. its like did u even try? not even stuff for just me, its more for him.
and the one that he thought would be just for me, was a flannel pj, but i hate the print, and a robe, something he knows i didnt need...
just disappointed, feel like he didnt even try to figure out what i need let alone pay attn to what i have.

anyone else?

DH did great this year, but there have been bad years in the past. Last year was right after we got married so we set a money limit. I bought DH tons of clothes and he bought me a vaccum!
The year before that, he seemed to have tried, but unfortunately he failed. He bought me a pair of Seven jeans that may have fit a 12 year old. And then he bought me one of the ugliest pairs of sneakers ever.

DH knew I wanted a dressy watch, and he bought me one, but it just wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't dressy enough, and very similar to my everyday watch. We're going to go to the mall tonight to return it and look for something else. I felt bad, but he'd rather me have something that I really like.

I think guys are just not great in this category, in general.
My FH has to take my FSIL in order to get me things cause otherwise he has NO CLUE! She picks out most of the stuff. She said this yr he did most of the picking out and she gave the ok.
Sometimes they need help.....its a guy thing.

My DH did very well this year - coach watch, awesome coach bag...few other things but I have had MANY bad years so for the last two years I print out about 20 things that I would like (pictures and everything) and give them to him. He can choose what he likes and I really don't know what I'll get because I gave such a selection that I'm surprised too : )

I feel like a brat over this one. Last year he bought me a ton of outfits that weren't my style at all. Later on we had a huge fight about what I didn't wear anything he picked out for me. I've told him its not my style before and then we exchanged pretty nasty remarks that centered on the weight I've gained & how I dress too plain.

This year he went to the Loft & bought about 7 outfits for me. I opened them up, liked the clothes & was surprised he got things that I liked. However deep down a part of me was thinking "Just clothes?"

I'm thinking he just cant win for a million different reasons...none having to do with Christmas.

just upsets me cuz hes always done so good for me, and this is 1st xmas married and i get that. just very disappointed

i hate to admit i wasnt too thrilled with the gifts my bf got me. i am not selfish in any way but i put a lot of thought and effort into his gifts (and as usual, I went overboard $$ wise)
I like the things he got me but i was hoping for something a little more sentimental...

Last year, DH thought he had the brillant idea of getting me the Kitchen Aid Mixer I didn't get for my shower. My mom told him that appliances are never a gift unless specifically requested! He gets a list every year and tends to stick to it.

Sometimes I find that DH buys what he would like me to have, and not necessarily what I want. Or he takes my suggestions and twists them so they're not really what I wanted. It's frustrating, but I think he's learning.

He did great for my birthday this year (although he spent way too much) and Christmas was okay. But our first Christmas together he bought me the first season of Friends on DVD...I was just like And he spent Christmas with my family that year and I had to open gifts in front of my mother, who knew I was disappointed! It was awful!

My DH buys me only "safe" gifts. Its always the same & I perfer it that way ie. Spa Certificates,perfume,some clothes.
3 years ago all hell broke loose in our house,not because I'm a spoiled brat, but because I hate wasteful-useless gifts.

I got ( & in this order)

1. a Toaster Oven we already had one, it wasn't broken,we didn't need it, DH is the only one that really uses it..oh yeah, did I mention this was suppose to be MY gift?

2. A Bose Sound System, the one with the CD-Radio..remote control like a credit card..anyway- another gift clearly for HIS pleasure! He justified it by saying "you said you wanted a new alarm clock for our bedroom" yeah OK.

3. A piece of stained glass artwork. This atrosity is 4 inches high..probably 24 inches long. What window would I hang this on/in...and why would I? It has never seen daylight! Still in the box. Justified this one by saying " But you Loooove vineyards and Olive trees" the pattern on the piece, OK but NOT like that.

The best for last...
4. A 10 Speed Bike.
Like I was training for the Tour De France or something! Did he think I was gonna go to the cleaners in 19 degree weather on a bike? or maybe "explore" our neighborhood in my free time...something I do not have- Free Time! I barely sit through dinner without getting up to do 8 additional things! When I opened the wrapped bike ( oh yeah, Mr. I'm soooo Proud of myself, wrapped it) I just looked at him & said "Koj`ce mi ovaj kurac!?" I think you understand my tone

Horrible. I think he felt so bad that he tried to make-up for it that Valentines Day by buying a huge diamond cross only the POPE himself could pull off. Needless to say,never wore it.

I think your DH thought that just being in VS was effort in itself and oviously he was thinking it through when he went to an exclusively womens shop..knowing Croatian men,be happy you didn't get something from HomeDepot.

I got the Celine Dion "Miracle" book and he put a card in a box and wrote me a note about how great a mother I am and how he never could have done what I did as far as giving birth (all natural) and he meant it when he said he would buy me anything I wanted after that.
Well I gave birth 3 months ago and never asked for anything and I still won't go out and buy myself something because the things I want are expensive and I want them as a gift.

I'm not happy with the gifts i got him. We set a spending limit of $200, then he said he coudlnlt stick to it, so I said ok $300. I got him tickets to spamalot (over $200), a pair of nice sharper image slippers (i still want to get pj's to go with them), an alarm clock for the shower (he loses track of time) and a NYT recipe master thing....I spent about $300 and that's all for xmas hanukkah combined. He stayed withing $300 for the christmas gifts at my house...then I went to his hosue and he spend at leasta c ouple hundred on gifts under his tree...he gave me a whole disney xmas village...and then there are hanukkah gifts. I thought I was doing good. I got him the spamalot tixx, and some useful things...and he got me ALL of this stuff

I was very happy for the most part, he got me an awesome new digital camera I wanted, the spacesaver for under the cabinet in the kitchen and some betty boop stuff etc. But then I had a list of DVD's I wanted and he went out on his own, ignored my list and got me the rudolph box set (which I love) but then got me the frosty box set too, which I don't like and he gave these to me on Christmas morning, two Christmas sets and Christmas is over, so I am not going to watch them now tilk next year anyway!!He knows I have wanted the golden girls box set for over a year now and didn't get it, I really thought it was in one of those boxes and was a bit disappointed since I stuck to his list and got all he wanted. And I was a little disappointed that he didn't get me anything kinda romantic. I told him next year I am not giving him a list and he needs to go out and think of me and buy romantic and nice things I would like, even clothes!!

I was partially happy...my dh got me some clothes from Anne Taylor loft. I wasn't crazy about his selection, so I returned them and got myself some other things. But, he also got me a spa gift certificate that I loved and needed!

MY DH did good...he is USUALLY good with gifts for me. It was our first married Xmas and I was proud of him. I got some CDs and VD's I wanted, a Spice Rack (which I have been hinting at for months!!) a few books, Victoria Secret Pajamas, Slippers and Robe (which I asked for) and a Tassimo Machine!! I love the Tassimo machine the best!! I also got a really cool NY Islanders (Im the biggest fan) snowglobe that commemerated all 4 of their Stanley Cups!! And of course, jewelery..a gorgeouse Pink Sapphire and Diamond white gold necklace which he said he picked out all by himself!
