Baby shower AND birth announcements?
Did you/would you send out birth announcements if you had a shower? I'm thinking about doing it, even though I'm having a shower. I'm afraid that people will think that I'm expecting another gift, which is not the case at all. It's just that DH and I are moving halfway across the country next week, far away from family, so I want to send photo announcements out to everyone when the baby is born.
What do you think?

Oh YES Im sending out announcements!! I cant wait to pick them out!! I'm having a shower too. I dont think people will think its hinting for more gifts, I never felt that way when people send me announcements.

Ok, I'm hoping that's not what they'll think. I know my mom goes to the shower and also will send a gift when the baby is born, but that's her.

i'm not having a shower, but if i did i would send both. i don't think an announcement = gimme gifts, i sure hope other people don't see it that way!

I did. We didn't get many gifts from the birth announcement. I personally love getting them and seeing people's babies.

We did both. To be honest, most of the people who gave us a gift gave it before we sent out the announcements or if we didn't see them told our parents they had a gift for us.

I had a shower and I did photo announcements. I wanted family & friends who didn't see her in the hospital to see what she looked like. I would not think that a person who sends a birth announcement is looking for gifts.

Yes you should absolutely send out announcements if you want to. Show off your new bundle of joy...
I am sending both. My shower is in april and the baby is due at the end of may and I will be sending out announcements...
