Paxil users

To make things even worse, I just called my Dr. because I need a re-fill. I have one pill left (this has never been a problem before). She wont call in my script until I see a psychologist. I just got an appt with someone she recommended, FOR OCTOBER 20th!!!!!!!!!!

I have gone a couple of days without Paxil, and the withdrawal symptoms of stopping are just AWFUL. You get these horrible zaps throughout your body, like electric, muscle spasms, headaches.

Great, just what I need. Chat Icon

Re: Paxil users

I would consider this an emergency! They should at LEAST give you pills to hold you over until the appt.

Definitely call them...tell them how long it'll be until your appt...maybe they can help.Chat Icon

I agree. I think the effects of Paxil withdrawal were some of the worst days I ever had.

I kept seeing trails and getting dizzy and feeling sick. It was just horrible.

I would call them back, tell them you have an appointment but you can't take the withdrawal until the 20th.

Good luck.

Call your Dr. back and tell them you don't have an appt. until the 20th. They should at least refill your prescription until then. The Dr. should know better. Paxil is a drug that should be taken very seriously and when taken off of that drug you should be weaned slowly.

Re: Paxil users

That happened to me once too, but a different med, but awful withdrawal. I just got on the phone and kept calling doctors and doctors until someone agreed to see me that night!!!

I can't believe doctors can do that. They seriously have NO CLUE how bad the withdrawal from these meds can be. I'm sorry your going through this, I know it is rough.

She will at least give you a scrip then. It's so ridiculous she wants you to see another Dr and you make that appointment and then she has to see you too. Maybe after this find a new Dr.Chat Icon

I am glad they gave you an appointment for today. Allowing someone to go off Paxil cold trukey seems pretty cruel. I got those horrible brain zaps and it was not fun.Chat Icon

Re: Paxil users

I'm gald you amde the appointment with her..hopefully she'll give you a script. There's no way she should just leave you without your meds for a month. That can really screw people up, or does she not know that?!

I worked in a hospital as a social worker on the psych unit. ACtually the next time this happens (god forbid)...go to the ER and tell them you are out and need your meds bc of the symptoms you are experiencing.

Re: Paxil users

I go to Great South Bay Family Medical
(Dr. Raymond Ebarb and Associates)
I use their Sayville ofc for now because I live out east but I will be moving to Nassau soon and willswitch to babylon then...They are great and the staff is awesome...Try them.

I see Dr. Ebarb but he is only in Sayville, anyone else is good as well. He put me on lexapro and I am doing much better now.
