Today my doggies got a bottle of garlic pills and ate some. So I called the poison control center and they told me that garlic is toxic and can give them some kind of anemia if left untreated they can die. Well, we brought them into the emergency vet and they are keeping my babies overnight. Im so sad because this is all our fault for leaving them on the table knowing how they are.
So needless to say just for them staying overnight tonight is costing us over$1,600. Plus they might have to keep them longer for monitoring.
Please pray that they dont get this anemia because then they would need a blood transfusion.
Also, everyone please be careful and not be like us. I feel so guilty and bad for this happening.
UPDATE
Missy and Rocky are home. We picked them up yesterday and so far so good. Rocky has some diarrhea but its possibly from all the charcoal they gave him but they dont seem to have any effects. We have to monitor them though to make sure they arent lethargic and to make sure they have a good pink color in their gums. One thing they have is their appetite which is good. I just hope it stays like this
