Question for teachers (elementary)
Do you give your class moms gifts at the end of the year? If so, what?
I usually do candles/lotion for either Xmas or End of the year... but I want to do something different... not fond of a gc... don't want to spend more than about $20...

I'm not a classroom teacher, but my friends who are only give their class moms something if they've actually been helpful, which, isn't always the case. They usually give them a basket of stuff from bath and body works or candles, something like that.

I have been trying to thnk what to get my class moms also. One of the teachers I work with gives her mothers a tote bag with summer stuff in it- towel, hat, book, sunscreen, inexpensive flip flops, etc.

You know where is perfect to get all this stuff right now, Jo Anne Crafts. They have the cutest beach bags on sale for under ten bucks, and flip flops are 2 pairs for 3 bucks. Plus tons of other summer stuff on sale.

im not a teacher but thats a wonderful idea
and i would only buy for the moms that were helpful ..

I always get my class moms end of the year gifts. I have had some amazing parents. I usually get them somethng from bath and body works but i also want to get them something different.... have no clue..

I got them Bath and Body works for Xmas so I wanted to do something else. I coudl always do flowers. My friend works at a massage therapy place so I asked her to see if she could get a discount for a half hour massage- I was going to give them that!

that is a great idea.....(massage)
i like the flowers idea also.. i hate giving gc.. for someone that is so creative in the classroom I am diffculty being creative with this.. let me know if you think of anything else.

You can give a summer themed bucket with plastic or paper cups and plates, and chips and drink mix....etc...
I usually give a gc for a mani/pedi

I've given really nice stationary sets, flowers, those awesome boxes of greeting cards for all occassions (I am obsessed with those, they are so convenient) I've also given Barnes and Nobel gc with a fancy bookmark. I'm not sure what i'll do this year, I've been thinking about this too.

I hate giving the types of gifts that I hate to get... thats my problem. I don't know about you guys but by the time the end of the year is up I could open my own lotion/candle store!  I am going shopping this weekend- hopefully I'll find something!
My other idea is to do a movie bucket, fill it with candy and a small gift card to Blockbuster... But you never know who eats candy anymore!

I usually dont give anything to the class moms because ALL the moms go up and help out throughout the year.. but also becuase I have to buy for 1) the teacher 2) the teachers helper 3) my sons extra help math teacher 4) the principle 5) the bus driver.
Its just so much...
