Went to my new school today
I am all set to start on Feb 27 :) I spent 3 hours at the Board of Ed in Long Island City straightening out stupid paper work (most of it was spent waiting!). Then I went to my new school, got my schedule and class lists, and walked around to see the different classrooms that I will be in. The bad news is that the teacher I am replacing has called out sick all week, they have no idea at what point she is at in any of her classes, and they do not know where she keeps her things from the class. Yikes! I am teaching 3 7th grade classes and 2 8th grade. The good news is that 4 out of my 5 classes are supposed to be nice kids, and walking around today, I felt comfortable. The school has a nice vibe for a city school. I am sure that it will be very overwhelming at first but I am excited about this opportunity.
