Inexplicable blue feeling

So I will start by saying that I am not hiding my identity because 1) I have always been honest so why hide now and 2) I am too damn lazy to create a new identity.

Today I am feeling okay, but for some reason yesterday I got this really heavy blue feeling. Nothing seemed to have brought it on, but I came home from work and felt this HEAVY feeling in my chest. It is a feeling I haven't had in years. I didn't even have this feeling when I was laid off last year. Last time I felt this way was 7 years ago, at least.

Last night I started zoning out and DH asked me questions and I gave him one word answers. I felt so weird and out of touch with myself. I opened my closet to choose something for the next day (today) and just stared into the clothing.

Today I woke up and I felt fine. I worked and had nine new students (I teach adult ESL so the enrollment is rolling and I constantly get new students) and had a great talk with my supervisor of my other job (I teach in the morning in the library and then work for the library itself in the afternoon) and she helped me do a homework assignment for library school. Today seemed good, but I can't shake the memory of the heaviness and blueness of yesterday. I am afraid it will come back.

What could have caused that feeling? Nothing really horrible is happening in my life (Thank God)

I don't know what could have caused it but I too think everyone has days where they get blue.

Re: Inexplicable blue feeling

I guess it was the heaviness that made me worry. I have been sad before but this was a heavy feeling.

Oh well, maybe I just need a break from working two jobs and going to school and having DH work long hours and go to school.Chat Icon

Re: Inexplicable blue feeling

You've got a lot going on in your life and even though nothing "bad" has happened, it's easy to see how you might feel overwhelmed. The only thing I can suggest is to ask your DH for help. Tell him you've been feeling kind of blue and the only thing you can attribute it to is everything going on. ask him for help with the cooking, cleaning, etc...

Re: Inexplicable blue feeling

Maybe I am being too hard on myself. Lots of little things can add up and create stress. When I thought of all of the things on my plate, I realized there is more than I noticed because they came on gradually

I work two jobs and go to school
DH works and goes to school
DH was promoted to manager, but with the title comes the responsibilities.
DH has been bringing a lot of work home
IL's are preparing to move back to Poland in about a month (DH is feeling slightly abandoned)
my brother and SIL are preparing to move to NC this summer (I only have one sibling, so it is kind of sad to see him move away)
DH's and my close friend/best man is preparing to move to PA this summer (to be closer to his gf soon to be fianceeChat Icon
Last month our condo was robbed

And now that I think about it, the one that may have pushed me:

DH started South Beach Diet last week and as a result, I have tried to be good around him (and good in general) and I think I just need to split an ice cream sundae with him and we can't just yet.

I guess I just needed to sit and think about it and now I understand why I felt the way I did....

Thanks for the support ladies!
