Are HDTVs worth the extra $?
FH and I are looking to get a LCD screen for the bedroom, and was wondering if we should spend a little more for a high definition one

Short and Long answer...... YES.
Especially when Cablevision will give you the hi-definition cable box for no extra charge.

Yes! We just got a 26" Sony Auquos LCD with HDTV for our office/den and love it! It was installed yesterday - what a difference from a regular tv!

Standard for any major sports game... as well as just about ALL prime-time shows on 2, 4, 7, and 11.
