Anyone use benzaclin for their skin?

I was on antibiotics for breakouts which worked awesome but I had to go off them. You cant take them for too long I guess. I now have Benzaclin cream. Does this work?

I derm prscribed it for my chin breakouts.. I only used it like 3x.. it was too harsh for me, I was completely dried out from it.
Use VERY sparingly. There is another cream that is much better, it cleans out your pores instead of drying out pimples. Forgot the name, will look up for you when I get home Chat Icon

Is that the refridgerated one? I know I was on it for a while, but some are refridgerated, which I don't like (at different times I did benzamycin and benzaclin--both have benzoyl peroxide as the main ingred.--imo they are not much different than clearisil). I'm now on Duac, which I love, and some sulfur thing (I want to say Klaron)?

I think that's the one I'm thinking of too...it goes in the refrigerator... I use this only for spot treatments if needed. I think it's too harsh for all over treatment.

I use Differin, which has been helpful, but not AMAZING, like the Accutane was. Chat Icon

I use Duac every morning, all over. I use Klaron (sulfer) every night all over. I mustn't have sensitive skin because nothing dries me out. I have the opposite problems on my hands, which are super dry. My derma. recently put me on Mymyx for my hands which is EXCELLENT. Do you use Cetaphil? That's also really great. What kind of makeup do you use? Could that be hurting it too?

I did it all over, but my skin is so oily it still didn't dry it all out.

Have you ever used Proactiv? I think that's great to use to keep your skin free of breakouts and acne. If you use it as they say religiously, your skin will be beautiful. I have many friends who are using this and swear by it. Once you order it the first time, they send it to you every 2 to 3 months.

I did, and it worked very well for me for a while. Suddenly it just stopped being effective, so I canceled it.

Karissa, my doctor prescribed Azelex, it is much gentler than Benzaclin IMO.

oh wow.
i used to hate the refridgerated one.
i used to forget about it.
i have to say I do not miss that whole thing: tetracyclin, benzaclin, and retin-A
then she had me on this other medicine that had a color to it- like a medicated foundation.
none of it worked for me.
i went on accutane- and two years later- still perfect!
i only wish I didn't waste those 10 years- b/c now I have TONS of scarring.
