Ever go to Ocean Beach, Fire Island?

No but I think the person who took them does. She sent another one last week that basically showed a house on stilts with waves underneath and no beach left.

I was just there for a wedding on October 1. If the water got that far toward the bay, then the bay must have met the ocean and the whole island is flooded.

No I think that is the water from the bay. In the first picture you can see where the ferry comes in (which is on the bay side) and the water in the street there. But you're right, the water may have met at one point!
