Dumb question, but what does a full-blown contract feel like?

I had 5 contractions in the last 40 minutes. They weren't super intense, but they felt like they started in my back and worked their way forward, and each time, they made me dizzy. They were not so painful that I couldn't move, but even when I laid down after the first three, I had two more. I've been drinking plenty of water all day, too. I had about another 4 contractions ontop of these since this morning at like 7, but those were basically one every few hours. Would I feel it in my whole abdomen or just my lower abdomen? Because these are just in my back and lower abdomen. I'm not too concerned because I don't think they're anything more than BH, but I am at work and VERY uncomfortable today.

Sounds like BH. If you are worried call your OB to be sure. It is still early for you to be having contractions

My full blown real contractions stopped me dead in my tracks, they came from my whole abdomen and felt like an AF cramp just mulitplied by 50!!

I couldn't talk through them, I couldn't have anyone talking to me, I just had to concentrate on breathing.

I didn't think i would recognize a real contraction until you really have them, and oh boy to they get you!

I was doing laundry and had a contraction I almost dropped to the floor!

Thanks girls. That's what I figured. I was just curious because I knew I was having BH contractions today, but I was wondering how I would know the difference. I kept wondering if I'd feel it in my whole abdomen. Thanks for the responses
