What happened to WBLI's morning show?
Ok, so I have been out of the loop since I had my son. I turned it on this morning in Dana and Randy are hosting it--what happened to Steve and Maria?

I dont know what happened to steve and maria all I know is that now maria is on walk97.5 at nights and i dont know where steve went!

Oh wow, they aren't there anymore? I have sirius now so I never listen to the reg radio anymore. But, I used to intern at BLI years ago and did all the annoying work for the morning show 3x a week. Steve and Maria were so nice... I wonder what happened!

We were just talking about this at work today. Steve left for another career (I believe) and Maria (like Ro said) is on 97.5.

i never listen to wbli but the rare occasions i do last week steve said he is leaving after 25 years and said as star jones put it the show is going in another direction and its time for him to move on. think hes too old for the audience.

WOW! I dont know how i missed that. I have it on in the mornings in the bathroom all the time. I swore they said vacation.

In a shock move, Cox top 40 WBLI Nassau-Suffolk, New York (Long Island) morning-drive legend Steve Harper hosted his last morning show Wednesday (July 19), leaving after 25 years with the station.
Message boards are buzzing with the rumor that Harper, who is known as the “Crank King,” is being moved to Cox sister AC WEZN (Star 99.9) Bridgeport, Conn.
While the station is searching for a new morning star, APD Al Levine is expected to handle mornings with Dana DiDonato and Big Randy.

WOH WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!!! i will call al tomorrow and se what he says and let you all know!!! not for nothing but if steve leaves i will NOT be listening at all in the morning. i will let you all know as soon as i know something
eta: i just pulled up wbli: and no steve on it that does mean he is gone, not to say but that al is the last of the old crew, he is a personal friend of mine and if he leaves (which i have a very good feeling i know why steve left)i will not listen anymore.

This actually had been in Newsday a few days ago. I believe I saw that Steve has left the show to pursue another career. Maria is also gone. I know I read this is Newsday...just not sure what day. Stinks right? I used to love listening to them two!! I've since switched over to Z100.

they will lose alot!!!!!! now that steve is gone!! i know that. first wendy wild and reno, then maria, now steve, ummmm they all left after cough cough(can't say) but i am sure you can figure it out

I liked Steve and Maria... Randy is too high-strung, I find him more annoying than anything.

HARPER LEAVES WBLI. Morning show host Steve Harper signed off from WBLI/106.1 FM for the last time Wednesday after 25 years, reports Newsday's Rafer Guzmán. Yesterday, the Mineola-born Harper described his departure as amicable, though he cited creative differences over the "direction" of his show. Harper began his career at WBLI as an evening DJ on Nov. 7, 1980; his tenure there is unusual in an era when radio hosts jump from station to station. Harper said he hopes to reappear on another local station soon. "People know me on Long Island," he said. "This is my place."

 shows how observant I am! I flip through different stations in the morning but I didn't even notice they were gone 
I never liked Maria. something about her personality and voice really annoyed me.
