having trouble finding decent furniture

I think we've looked everywhere on LI for a 60" nice wooden tv console, cocktail tables, end tables, computer L desk and eventually a bedroom set (I fell in love with Ethan Allen sleigh bed Tuscany)...

I want to buy quality bedroom furniture-and have only found good stuff (dovetail joints) at Ethan Allen & Domain (could spend $8,000)

Would like to maybe look in NYC - could anyone suggest any places that compare and have quality stuff?

Someone mentioned something about North Carolina Furniture in NYC.

Ps: for the Computer desk we like this L shaped desk by Riverside - but not a lot of stores sell it & there are no showrooms. :(

There's Foremost Furniture in NYC on 28th St I think. They have alot of stuff. Also, stores in North Carolina sometimes sell the stuff that is carried in Domain and Ethan Allen. Our couch was from Domain (they told us it was "exclusive" to Domain) and we asked them the manufacturer, went on their website, found the couch and called our contact in NC and got it for less than half price.

We use Furnitureland South in NC - they have a website - www.furnitureturelandsouth.com.
