I'm so disappointed...UPDATED
One of my close friends decided to throw an "End of Summer BBQ" the day before my shower, which is fine. However she called me today to tell me she's not going to come to the shower because she has her cousins and brother sleeping over her place and doesn't want to ask them to leave in the morning. Now all of my college friends and myself are attending her party - I hope this doesn't mean everyone isn't going to come b/c they will be too hungover or whatever. She said she thought about changing it but there is no other weekend available.
I'm just really hurt how my friend is prioritizing. She hasn't even seen me since I got pregnant and I'm 6 months!!
My DH thinks these girls are all single and tired of celebrating for everyone's weddings/babies.
I want to say something to her about how I'm hurt...should I?
UPDATED: We spoke over email - she recognizes the importance of the day, but with the party, a business trip and cruise all that week she just needs to be home on Sunday. She doesn't want hard feelings over this. I just told her that I'm disappointed since I only get one shower and she's one of my closest friends.
I guess what's done is done and I need to get over the disappointment.
She made her decision

If you think it might make you feel better I would say something along the lines of "i'm really disappointed. this is a really special day for me. I was really hoping that you would be there." Your Dh is probably right. And maybe they are a tiny bit jealous too?

I probably wouldnt say anything bc I would probably end up in a fight which is not what you want anyhow. The party is going on regardless, right? If so...me personally...there would be no way I'd be at her BBQ and her not be at my shower. I could see how dissappointed you would feel.

i remember when u posted that she had planned it after knowing the date of shower and u were afraid people would not show...
all i have to say is 
IMO she should not have made the party that day to begin with and now to not come to the shower b/c she is having a BBQ (the day before and ppl are sleeping there)- that is wrong. i would totally say something. your baby shower is a 1 time thing - people have BBQs every weekend - i'd be very upset if i were u and would totally open my mouth...
sorry - i dont mean to sound like a biotch but she is one of your close friends and this is your baby shower

THanks ladies.
When she told me I just told her to try her best to make it b/c I'd really like her to be there. I even offered to pick her up since she doesn't drive. She said she didn't want to say "no" definitely at this point, but she was leaning that way.
I just think there's something more to it. If you knew her you'd be shocked that of all people she wasn't coming.
I told my mom I want to know who isn't coming and if my friends that are attending her party aren't coming to the shower, I will not be going to her BBQ.
It's just so disheartening when people don't seem happy for you - I always try to always do the right thing.

I think it's good that you said what you did. It's really too bad that she can't see how important it is to you and make some time for your big day. She sounds very selfish. I'm sorry that you're disappointed. I would be too. You'll still have a great time at your shower. Try not to let it bother you.

I'm sorry Jodi- I think she is wrong- there is nothing terrible about telling her guest she has to leave that morning to go to a shower.
I guess you will be very busy for her bridal shower then, huh?
