How much should we expect to spend on a real estate lawyer to handle the purchase of our new home?

we paid 850 for everything from our lawyer. the seller's attorney charged them 950.

I think there is a program where you pay something like $16 per month to have lawyer services for anything that might come up. A former co-worker got his divorce lawyer that way.

I have this at my job through metlife. Both the sale and purchase of my properties were covered last year. You just have to use an attorney they give you in the plan. It all worked out well for us.
I paid $750 in 2002 when I bought my first home.
