NY Cares Winter Wishes

The Winter Wishes Program
The holiday season is a special time of year for children, a time filled with excitement and anticipation. Sadly however, many families do not have the means to purchase even the most basic holiday gift. This winter, with your help, New York Cares hopes to fulfill the holiday wishes of more than 23,000 disadvantaged New Yorkers through our Winter Wishes for Kids and Families Program (formerly known as Secret Santa).

Winter Wishes for Kids - Children, ages 4 - 12, from homeless shelters, community centers, public schools, and hospitals write letters asking for holiday gifts. By answering letters, you'll help make their wishes come true.

Winter Wishes for Teens - Too old to write letters to Santa, but still young enough to wish for a gift, disadvantaged 13 - 17 year olds are often lost in the holiday rush. Our Teen Program has proven so successful and rewarding because it meets a need that is frequently overlooked.

Winter Wishes for Families - New this year, New York Cares has expanded the Winter Wishes Program to include family members. This is a wonderful way to make the holiday season brighter for New York City families in need.
