I can't stop eating!!
I just needed to let this out.....I can't stop eating!!! For almost the past year I was on a very strict low fat/no fat diet for medical reasons, now that my dr told me I can go back to a normal diet, I can't stop eating!!!! Besides being aloud to eat again, i'm 20 weeks pg!!! My weight gain was going well up until about a month and a half ago, at 20 weeks, i've gained like 19-20lbs already, I guess I need to start my low fat regimine again....I still have a long way to go in this pg, i don't want to gain 70lbs

it's not that i don't know how to eat healty, I have just been deprived of so many good things for so long that I'm not moderating what i'm eating, but i'm going to start!!

I gained about the same as you, and i am 20 weeks.
DO NOT GO ON A DIET UNLESS YOUR DR SAYS TOO!!! The last 2 trimesters are soooo important for your babies development, now is when it needs the nutrients the most.
It will come off after the baby, I know it's hard, I was a size 4 pre pg, but you aren't gaining weight for nothing, you are growing your child, just remember that

I've done nothing but eat anything I want....
I did the fast food kick
the icecream almost every day thing
sometimes skipping veggies or fruit for days at a time....
and the dr's haven't said a WORD and the scale is only up 17 lbs

DOn't forget your body and your baby need fats, the good fats from nuts, fish, some meats, oils.
If it's really getting to you, speak to your dr and tell him your concerns, maybe he can steer you in a direction regarding portion control, and a nutritionist.
I worry when I hear pg women cutting back on things...
I also think weight gain is more than 1/2 out of our control when we are pg. Our bodies totally take over and we lose control. I was a size four, and no matter what I do, I still gain. I think it's my body's way of making sure I am ready to give birth and take the stresses on my body.
Just please don't cut back calories/fats without speaking to your dr first. I would cut out the empty calories you could be eating like juices, fast food, fried foods, but still everything in moderation.

It's not gaining the weight that bothers me, it's that i'm not eating the right stuff, I'm pigging out on cakes, and cookies and candy, etc.....i'm just going to try and limit that stuff.

You have to remember that everything YOU eat, your baby eats too. It's ok to treat yourself every once in a while, but try to eat healthier, for your baby's sake!

ahhhh, there you go
Me I just eat too much real food i think I officially gained 20lbs as of this morning, and feeling great! My dr isn't concerned yet, me neither :)
