My poor baby has reflux and is so unhappy today.
She's been doing really well since the dr. put her on Zantac, but today is a really rough day for her It breaks my heart to know she's in pain. Please send Ava some hugs today

I know how you feel. We had a horrible time with Miranda's reflux. Have you modified your diet at all.

I know how you feel. We had a horrible time with Miranda's reflux. Have you modified your diet at all.
The pediatrician told me not to alter my diet just yet. He wanted to see if the Zantac alone works. We were giving it two weeks. One more week to go.
I have heard such conflicting reports about how your own diet affects your BM. I have no idea what would even be the problem. I don't drink much caffeine, if any at all these days and hardly any dairy. I know those are two biggies. I don't know. I'm just going to wait for the ped. next week.

Aww poor Ava. It's just heartbreaking seeing the baby in pain Just know that the Zantac can take a few days before it really works. It took us about a week to see a difference. But it really does help. We also piggy back the Zantac with Mylicon and I notice that helps more too. My ped told me to give her .3ml of Mylicon with .5ml of Zantac.

This is exactly to a T what we are doing, and she was doing SO great until last night. It's been a week. My dr. wanted to try it out for two weeks, so hopefully today was just a minor setback. I'm just so upset. Knowing that she is in pain is breaking my heart. I just feel like the worst mom in the whole world because I can't make her feel better.

I hope she feels better. Andrew has reflux but it doesn't happen often anymore. The ped took him off my BM because everything I tried to alter in my diet didn't help plus I wasn't producing enough. The ped told me that medication would be the last resort. He was put on Gentlease Formula but what really helped were the bottles and sitting him up during and 20 mins after feedings. He also sleeps upright. He is not comfortable lying flat.
I hope it get's better soon

My sister's daughter has silent reflux (no spitting up) and they just started meds but her diet definately makes a difference. My aunt is a LC and said that it didn't make that much of a difference yet she started slowly putting dairy back into her her diet and it made it SO much worse.
She limits dairy, tomatoes, onions, garlic, things like that.

I know! I kept thinking she's going to associate all this pain she's in with ME and I was freaking myself out. But they are so little and I don't think she remembers it at all. It's a tough beginning with these little girls, huh? But it'll get better. We had bad bad nights too...its hard.

See, I had pasta for dinner last night and it was the first time since I gave birth that I had a sauce, so I'm thinking that since it started late last night, it could have to do with the tomato sauce.

It may be that. Also while you say you don't drink caffeine, have you had chocolate?
I can't believe we have another baby with AR. Hope she's better soon!
