Who had mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving?
Was there butter in them?
I was so upset. The person who made them this year didn't put ANYTHING in them. It was literally just mashed potatoes...and they were barely even mashed. It's my favorite dish so I was disappointed.
Does anyone else make them this way? I've never heard of mashed potatoes without anything in them.

Really? Not even any salt? that's weird. The oen DH's aunt made seemed like that had butter in them.

thats strange
i usually put butter, milk, salt and pepper
and for days i want a garlic'y taste to them i add some garlic powder.

 That's just wrong!
Butter, milk, salt & pepper. I'd have to go home and make my own if I had that for Thanksgiving. That's like messing up the turkey

OK I would have demanded that the potatoes be redone 
I could not imagine eating them that way... its just WRONG! And what a waste of a good bunch of potatoes

DH's grandmother boils potatoes and puts them on everyone's plate and says "Do it in your plate, it's the same thing." ... ummm no it's not you crazy lady! If I wanted boiled potatoes I would have asked for them .. you advertised mashed potatoes woman, now mash them!

Definitely odd. I even add cream cheese to make them more creamy. I never heard of mashed potatoes without butter in them.
I say you call a do-over and make some this week and make them extra buttery!
