IVF ?-Egg donation
Ok, we are filling out the paperwork and the questions about what to do with eggs if we both die, female partner dies etc
Well me and DH said If I die , or BOTH of us die, we would allow the eggs to be donated to another female. Basically because Im dead, so hey, I live on and another women is helped, and or we are both gone....same theory.
AM I the only one who decided this?
Saying this b/c my friend who did IVF said we were nuts to do this, she never could.
WHY? I mean we are dead ya know? ( sorry to be so blunt)

I think it is a great decision. For me I opted against it mostly b/c we have DS and the thought of him having a sibling he didnt know about was hard for me.
Had I been in your shoes I probably would have chose that option.

you mean the embryos right?
we chose to discard..we just didn't feel comfortable donating to research or giving them to others..we also already have a son from that cycle..

I think we chose to donate to research too. BUt we had so many choices to make - in the event of DH's death - in the event of my death - in the event of both of our death's - in the event of a divorce - in the event of insanity....etc etc etc...

thats a good point.
I guess Ijust feel if we werent here we wouldnt know and DH agreed If I died he would be ok with it being donated. Its unlikely but I guess I dont see the big deal in it , but now am second guessing myself.
The use for reasearch is not a problem at all.
In event of Divorce, we agreed I get the, Why I dont know.
In the event of DH'S death, I get them.
Its the event of my or our both death that is the question.
I think I will stick to our decision.

Its such a personal decision...
We always put research/ or discard
Of course in 8 cycles we have never had anything frozen anyway

We chose to disregard. I didn't have a choice for Medical Research (that I can remember).
