Commuting Question

I commute every day - LIRR & Subway. How did you gals handle the need to pee every 2 seconds & the m/s? Any tricks?

Thanks!

Re: Commuting Question

Be prepared. I threw up a lot and often had to on the train, in Jamaica. I always carried a plastic bag with me!!!

Re: Commuting Question

I always sat in the bathroom car on the lirr and near the door connecting the cars on the subway in case I got sick, other than that I always carried a plastic bag, crackers and water.

Re: Commuting Question

Today I tried to find the bathroom car, but I have no idea where it is on the double decker trainsChat Icon

It is the subway that I am most worried about. I get sick from them normally - even before PGChat Icon

I did the very same thing -

I wish there was an easier way to deal with M/S when you are commuting, but it's really tough.. You'll manage though (and hopefully you won't get any M/S anyhow! Chat Icon)

Ah..I have no idea, usually they have a restroom sign on the outside of the train for the bathroom cars, not sure about the double deckers though...ask the conductor.

Hopefully it won't happen and just bring things to be prepared.

Re: Commuting Question

Luckily, I made it on the train and subway without ever having to use the bathroom to pee or to throw up.

I had my plan if I needed to though. I sat on the bathroom car on the train. I carried a plastic bag in my tote. I sucked on ginger altoids or chewed fruit-flavored gum when I started to feel nauseous.

Re: Commuting Question

Its gross, but GAP bags are the best. They have that string in them. After getting sick on the bus, atleast I could tie up bag and pass out.

Re: Commuting Question

Oh I feel for you!

I commuted 2 hours one way up until I was 8 months pregnant. I always sat in the car with the bathroom even if I had to walk to find it and I brought plastic bags with me in case I got sick. I never had to use them, but did throw up in Penn Station garbage cans. People look at you like your are crazy especially when you aren't showing!
