Baby's room

For those of you who put up a "chair rail" around the room or a border at about the same height, how high from the floor did you put it? We're about to get started with the baby's room, but I don't know where to place the rail. We're painting the bottom one color and the top wide stripes of 2 colors with a chair rail and a wallpaper border separating the top and bottom. Any suggestions?

I did see your pics and I love it! Seeing your pictures is what reminded me that I had no idea where to put the rail. This is the first time I'm hearing about the height. Maybe you told somebody else, but I appreciate the info. Thanks.

I just made DH measure her chair rail in the nursery Chat Icon He says it's about 36 inches but you can do whatever you feel looks right and does not interfere with any window sills, etc... Our master bedroom is about 35 inches and the rest of the house varies...

Our nursery is on the small side....would putting the border in the middle as opposed to the top of the wall make it seem smaller?

Our nursery is small - you can probably tell from the pics. I was worried that the chair rail may make the room look smaller but by putting it at the height which we did, it actually made the room look a little bigger.

Our nursery is only 8x12, I think if you go up half way up the wall it will look smaller.

Oh and DH was just here, he suggests staying away from all black becuase it will make the room smaller. LOL Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Same here. We put the wallpaper border just above where the side of the crib was so she could see it while lying down.
