Question about daycare

If you have to go back to work after your 12 week leave, at what point in your pregnancy are you looking into daycare?

Does anyone know how far in advance you need to "reserve" a spot?

I think that it depends on the daycare when to reserve a spot. I think that I will start looking in my 7th or 8th month.

I started in my 6th month and I was glad I did because a few places had waiting lists.

I started before I had the baby and just looked at one more last week. Katie was 3.5 wks when I looked at the last one. Im going back to work when she is 8 wks old.

Things may be different on LI, but in CT the good daycare centers have loonnngggg waiting lists and book up way in advance.

I started looking in January for Gianna when I was about 6 months pg. I am not going back to work until September, and the good places, that's when there 1st opening was!

So I booked her in january for sept enrollment!

You should look and have a spot secured before the baby comes.

Thank you so much everyone! I'm in my 15th week but I think I will start looking in a few weeks. I really want to look at a lot of places before deciding and I would feel awful if the one I like best ends up being all booked up.
