For those that have cats

do you still change the litter while you are TTC?

Re: For those that have cats

that is the one job that hubby does - whether we are TTC or not. I just wouldn't take a chance.

Re: For those that have cats

I am very lucky, DH has done it since we've moved in together. But if it was my chore, I'd do it while TTC but not after conceiving. Though I've heard that the risk is very low, but I wouldn't chance it.

No not at all. My OB told me that as long as I plan of still having kids (and that Im PG) I should NOT go near the litter. I have 1 indoor cat.

I still do. My dr didn't seem to think it was an issue until I'm PG.

Re: For those that have cats

Toxo is fecal-oral so if you do anything I'd wear gloves and wash after.

My DH has been changing the litter for a while...

Re: For those that have cats

I know that a person may have it already and not know it and immune to it. I heard that if you get it while you are pregnant it is not good. And if you have indoor cats then the risk is low. I would be careful eating not well cooked meat and gardening outside, may be outside cats doing there business in the dirt. Just to be safe i wear gloves and a mask when i do the kitty litter. If I become preg. then hubby could do it.

My DH has always done it. He had the cat before we met.
