what SPF do you use on the lil ones??
i use a spf of 30 suntan lotion on my 3 year old and 2 year old. is that high enough?? or should i switch to 45 or 50? tia.

I bought 40, however one of my friends bought 50. Now I think I am a bad mother because she obviously loves her son 10 more than I love mine!!!

I was told by someone that anything over SPF 30 - is not really different than SPF 30. Just has more ingredients. I have to research this though.

I have heard the same thing. Plus I have heard that a white T-shirt is only SPF 15 as is the shade of a tree.

I learned the same thing. You just pay more money for the higher numbers, but they don't REALLY give any more protection.
ETA: that doesn't mean that I won't "waste" my extra money to get the higher number for my little angel though -- JUST IN CASE!

My ped told me not to get anything over 30SPF as anything higher just has more ingredients. However, I couldn't find SPF 30 for kids. So I bought the Aveeno baby SPF 40.

I use 45 or 50...my ped said 15 was fine...it's not the SPF so much as the need to reapply often. I still use the higher # because it makes me feel better...
