Crib question

Does your baby's crib have a side that come down or is it stationary sides?
What do you like about the crib? My nephews are a bit older but my sister doesn't understand how anyone could buy a crib where one of the sides doesn't go down. I just like the look of the stationary ones better but I am afraid that when the mattress is at the lowest point, I won't be able to put a sleeping baby down in it!

I have the crib where one of the sides goes down, and I can't tell you how thankful I am that we bought it. You have no idea how important it will be when you have your baby to be able to put him/her down to sleep gently without waking him/her! I think it all depends on your height - I'm 5'4 and honestly, I find it very difficult to put Alex in her crib when both sides are up and inevitably she wakes up everytime I try to put her down that way

I went through the same thing when I was looking for a crib.

Go to one of the stores that have both - find someone that is willing to help you - and have them move the mattress for you on a stationary side.

One side comes down on ours and I haven't had to put it up yet...it's so easy to just lean in and lay him down or play with him while he's in there or change him. I found when I was shopping that the stationary ones are usually nicer looking but I think the movable ones are more practical

Anyone with a stationary side crib that LOVES it and has no problems?

My big problem is that I just like the way they look better! I know, that won't matter eventually but it does now!

TRUST ME, I was the same way. I put sooooo much effort into my nursery and wanted everything to look just so. I hated the look of the cribs that weren't stationary but against my wishes I listened to DH (for once ). I promise you, when baby comes out, this will be the very least of your concerns and probably one of the BIGGEST concerns will be about getting baby to sleep soundly!

I am also 5'2" and I felt I was a little too short for the stationary side, so I went with a dropside.
The dropside, you can use one hand, at least with the one I bought. But putting the baby in it - the side should already be dropped since you had to drop it to take the baby out.
