Freaking Telephone Survey Company called my house at 10pm
grrrrrrrrrrr they are soooooooooooo lucky they didn't wake my daughter up! 
I just can't believe the nerve--- 10 freaking pm!

ooooo when that happens, I hold the phone away from my head and YELL in the background!
Usually it's something realllllly dumb, like "Susie! Cats don't like ovens!" or "GET THE BABY OUT OF THE TOILET!!!!"
They alllllways hang up.

i dont think do not call applies to telephone surveys but you should take their info down & then asked to be removed from their list.
Here's the info from the site:
31. What about telephone surveys?
If the call is really for the sole purpose of conducting a survey, it is not covered. Only telemarketing calls are covered — that is, calls that solicit sales of goods or services. Callers purporting to take a survey, but also offering to sell goods or services, must comply with the National Do Not Call Registry

The f-word and a few other choice ones were coming out so fast that I didn't have a chance! Grrrrrrrrr and went on the NYS do not call site to report them and it says survey companies can still call I am going to see if I can find a c/s number and call and lay into someone tomorrow!

Well that $ucks! I hope you find a C/S # & get through to someone. Unfortunately, it won't stop them from calling others at that time but maybe can at least get that company to stop calling you all together.

I got the number and called. They transferred me to some voice mail that says so and so will be on vacation until 9/1/05 So I will be calling back tomorrow and I sent them an e-mail also! Oh well

Thats crazy! I have caller ID and around 9PM last night, it came up Verizon...Wonder if it was the same call you got?
I didnt answer! Thank Goodness for Caller ID.

I had a census guy come to my apartment yesterday at 8 pm. I wouldn't let him up. I told him I was pregnant (true) and sick (not true) and he could come when my husband was hoem after 10. Needless to say- he didn't come.

A census? Is it a census year? Things like that freak me out. People could make up any excuse to come into your house.
I had been getting messages from the CDC about an immunization poll for a few weeks. They would call at all hours. I finally spoke to the guy on Sunday morning. I only answered b/c I thought only family would be calling us then.

I just got off the phone with the company. It was Braun Research in NEW JERSEY-- did you know that New Jersey is in a different time zone from LI? 
I finally spoke to a human (sorta) he said it must have been a computer glich or that I was in a different time zone. I told him where I was calling from and told him he woke my infant daughter up and then put me through 2 hours of he ll (a lie) and told him that if they ever call my house again, since I am telling them now to remove me and never call that I will file harrassment charges.
Ironically I used to work for a research company when I was student teaching because the hours were convient- I HATED doing but I understand their position also, so normally I will do them if I am not busy. But 10pm at night is OVER THE TOP!

I also use to work for a research organization and conducted telephone surveys. 10pm is definitely late though. We would never call anytime past 8:45pm.

its funny you should mention this...I have been noticing that telemarketers are calling later and later at night.
I scream at guy who called my at 9:50....I told him that I just got my son to bed....and he just woke him up...so I don't have time for the crap he is selling, not now not ever...so don't bother calling me...because your co is not going to get any of my money or time.
he really didnt wake up the baby...because I ran to the phone and picked it up mid ring...but I was annoyed that he called so late...to sell me something

Yes, the census is done every 10 years.
I'll look into it. I got a letter from the census bureau telling me to expect someone. I live in a doorman building, so I feel a little safer. He came over the weekend and had ID and everything and referred me to the letter-
BUt thanks!! i will definitely be on high alert and when I tell him to leave next time, I'll tell him not to come back. Thanks!
