What do you bring to your final walk through
I told Danielle we needed to bring something to plug in with us and she thought I was crazy.....
No one lives in the house. The house inspectors checked the house, and everything came up ok. I just want to make sure everything was still ok....

We meant to bring a small lamp with us to check the outlets and forgot, but our RE agent actually brought one. Otherwise, I don't remember bringing anything really. The homeowners weren't out yet, so it was hard to check on everything else.

flashlight to see behind and underneath things...like underneath the kitchen/bathroom cabinet...to check for water spots or any signs of a leak...behind the washing machine to check hose connections, etc...
yes, bring the checklist!! go over everything.
flush the toilets, run the dishwasher, shower, faucets, etc etc....

walk through
- run all faucets

- check all floors and walls (scratches/dents)
- alarm?
- outside lights

All of these are great. If there's a basement, I would check for any leaks.
Being that no one lives in the house, it's doubtful that anything changed since the inspection, but it can't hurt to check. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah. Thats the whole point of the walkthrough. To identify problems that may be there... so they can be addressed at closing.
Usually they are a day or two before. Sometimes they are the same day in the morning.

Wow, I didn't know this as well as the 100 other things with buying our first home. I can't wait for this process to be over. DH will be happy to hear we do the walk through before the closing. Thanks guys.

A camera is an interesting idea....My wife was laughing at the checklist. She says we dont need to check everything so closely since the home inspection team did....
The thing is that no one has lived in the house since we saw it, but there has been people in and out fixing the house, and the owner has been there to remove furniture and stuff...so who knows what has happened since the home team has been there....
