dress code question for a wedding
I am going to a wedding down in Virginia in a few weeks and I have NO idea what to wear. The reception is at 3:30 on a Saturday. What should I wear??? PLEASE HELP! If I need to go out and buy a new dress, I will, but I want to know what to look for. TIA

The two weddings I went to in VA were soooooooooo different than here. I would go for a cocktail dress (you know- short) or a nice summery dress. Is there any way to ask the bride what she would wear to her own wedding- being that you are from NY?

well they were all at our wedding...it is my DH's family....and they were dressed nice but not very dressed up, and ours was a night wedding. Do you think a summery green and white dress would be nice. It is a dressier version of a sundress.

I went to an afternoon wedding in Florida last year and I wore a summer dress. Not a real dressy summer dress, just a regular BCBG summer dress. I was one of the more dressed up people.

My MIL just came home from a wedding in indiana and she dresses like she would for a wedding here, she said there were men wearing flannel shirts and suspenders. So I guess dress like you normally would but not so dressy. People dont do it like we do in many other places.

If you're looking to buy a new dress...I saw some really nice ones in Ann Taylor Loft (they were on sale too  ) that would be great for an afternoon wedding in VA.
