twins and c sections
My friend is due with twins in a few months. The dr just told her she will need a c. He feels baby a will be born followed by the placenta and then baby b. That means baby b wll be without air and he doesnot want to risk it. Does this always happen?

Re: twins and c sections
i dont knwo that much about it, but both of my SILs have twins. 1 had a c-section, and 1 delived naturally. So i guess they dont always do that- but i wonder if they do it more often with twins to try to eliminate those kind of complications?

Re: twins and c sections
I am having twins and a csection. The doctor said that the type of twins i am having (identical) have more chances for complications both to me and the babies so he only does c-sections. I am totally fine with that. He is also going to schedule me approx 2-3 weeks earlier with twins as that is his protocol so i will most probably be going by 37 weeks unless i go earlier which is common.
I know with fraternal twins and other types of identical twins they are more willing to let the mother try naturally if she wants to but you have a chance of actually having one naturally and another via c-section and then have to recoup from both types of births.

Re: twins and c sections
I had my twins via c-section. Only because my doctor didn't want to do a VBAC. Then twin B was breech so they wouldn't of let me have a vaginal birth anyway. (so they say)

My SIL had the same issues, so she also had a C-section. 10 months later she had a VBAC!!

Re: twins and c sections
My friend just had fraternal twins and her Dr told her unless they were both NOT breech they would do a C-section. Baby A was head down and Baby B was feet first so she had a C-sect.
