Birth Control Question

Hoping you girls can help me out. I have been taking birth control for seven years....Ortho-Tricyclen and then Ortho Tri-Sprintec. I have no need to really be on them anymore and want to stop taking them. I have been hearing from more and more people lately of their troubles trying to conceive and they really feel it's due to BC. I don't want that....however I am not trying to get pregnant at the moment, but that doesn't really matter because I don't even have a boyfriend right now.....But I was wondering if any of you ever just stopped taking them and if I'm going to suffer from side effects of not taking them anymore? Want to know what I'm getting myself in to? Thanks so much for all of your help in advance and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Everyone is different, but I think the most common problem is heavier periods, irregular cycles and maybe spotting? At least those are the things that I had when I came off of birth control. I have not had spotting, but I know some people that have. IMO, birth control pills are not related to infertility. I have heard of more problems with depo than with the pills.

I went off my pills in July and have had no side effects at all other than my period being a bit erratic (I get it for 2 days, then it slows to spotting for day 3/4, then full force for another day or so, then POOF-gone). On the pill I just got a light-medium-heavy-medium light lasting about 5 days.

Other than that, I have had no increased emotion, headaches, or anything else.

I also agree that many of the fertility issues some women have had stem from BCP- which is why I went off....
