how early did you christen the baby

I've got a lot of family out of town and my mom actually asked the other day about trying to do it while they're here post delivery which seems like it would be tremendously overwhelming, but I'm curious if anyone else did it soon after birth? and if so, how did it go?

Re: how early did you christen the baby

From what I hear people wait at least 3 to 4 months before christening the baby. I do know that years ago they would christen the baby ASAP cuz it was a myth that if you took the baby out with out him/her being christened that the evil spirits would get to his/her soul something like that I know my grandmother and FH grandmother said these things to me

Julia was 2 months when she was christened. We just had a small party for her after the church at a resturant, with fam and friends.

Re: how early did you christen the baby

Our daughter was about 3 1/2 to 4 months old and we waited that long because she was born prematurely and in the beginning we weren't allowed to bring her around anyone and she had to get stronger.

Joseph & Maddie were both 3 months.

The both would've been at 2 months if I had my act together faster.

Katherine was christened at 5 weeks (the day after we moved, no less!).

I didn't want to do it that early, but #1 my ILs decided to go to the Galapagos in November, my first choice, #2 my niece was born 3 days before my daughter and had to compete for a date there and #3 after November I didn't want to deal with the holidays and the potential for bad weather in the winter.
