Little bit of a strange situation --- how to act?
A friend of ours (FH and Me) sent me the link to her wedding blog some time ago.
I was reading it this morning, and came across a post from last week that they went to a JoP, and got MARRIED!!! They have a date set/hall booked for 06.
FH saw the new groom the other day, and he didn't say a thing --- (of course, FH didn't notice if he had a ring on or not. He just didnt look). The bride's blog says that she won't wear her w-band until the church wedding next year.
Now...do we send a gift, or even a card now? Do we do nothing?
I couldn't post this on LIW, she lurks there.

does she know that you have visited her wedding Blog?
If so...just send her a card for acknowledgment...and give her a gift at the wedding celebration that you will be attending.

This sounds like what my brother did. They did a Town hall wedding and didn't tell anyone but immediate family. The main reason was that they knew they were doing the big church wedding later and didn't want people to feel obligated to send gifts for the Town Hall wedding if they were going to be invited to the big party later on.
Maybe send something small now?

I think you guys are right - I'll probably send a card, and see how that goes over.
I don't understand why they wouldn't have told us? Their best man for the church wedding doesn't even know.

I would give them a call and wish congratulations, maybe a card. I wouldn't send a gift if you are planning on going to their "big" wedding. Since she is not wearing her ring, it doesn't even sound like she wants to make a big deal about it.

I agree with everyone else...a gift is not necessary right now especially since they are planning a wedding celebration party in the future.
Just send a card with your good wishes.
