kind of weird question for moms of boys..
my little guy is 8 months old and about a month or 2 ago he discovered his "little manhood" every time i take his diaper off he goes for it. at first it was just touching and we all laughed at how cute that was now he grabs it with such force and such intent that dh cant even look and runs out of the room. i mean he makes it all red and it looks like he is going to take it off! if i try to stop him he get very angry. its a fight to get his diaper back on. i spoke with the dr and he said its normal. like he discovered his toes he has discovered this. i thought it was itchy but there is no sign of a rash. so i was just wondering if other moms have seen this?

Hey jenn,
this is very normal my son is 16 months now and that was a stage he went through when he was that age he still is interested by it now but doesnt tug at it so hard I use to think hed hurt himself too but i guess if it hurt hed stop lol. well i hope this helps plus to stop him from playing with it i would give him a toy while i was changing his diaper so hed focus on that

your right if it hurt i would think he would stop! it just looks so painful!!! thanks guys!

LMAO! My son is 7 months and found it last week! I guess we are still in the "cute" phase of it. I hope he doesnt get any more rough with it! I cringe now! Glad to hear its normal!

My son did that too and still does sometimes. Now for the most part he'll try to stick his finger in it!  It is normal. My DH does the same thing.

Patrick is going to be 4 next month & he plays w/ his penis everytime he's naked. He realizes that it can "grow" & find that cool.  I was told this is normal. It drives me nuts
