when can you take a newborn outside

I mean for walks and stuff. I am due early september and i love that time of year to go for walks and plus it will be good exercise to get rid of post baby FAT! TIA

I was taking Julia for walks when she was like 3 weeks old. She was born in July.

We took our baby out when he was around 10 days old...we took him to Ikea when he was 16 days old. That was a little bit young because he didn't appreciate the fine swedish design one bit. Ah well...there is still time for him to learn!

September is a fantastic time to have a baby because the weather is still really nice and you can take the baby out without having to worry too much about baby being cold. I had my baby in January...bad planning on my part. My next baby is going to be born in May or June ir only for the weather!

3 days old here- he was a june baby couldnt keep him inside much longer that that

I had my daughter in October and I think we took walks at around 2 weeks. I tried to take advantage of the mild weather as much as possible before it got too cold.

Talia was born 9/14 - I took her out for walks as much as I could.

I have been taking Ryan out since he was a week old. Its good to get out and he LOVES car rides and walks (even though the majority of the walking is done in the mall since its so cold out!).

Roman will be a month old Tuesday and hasn't really been out too much. My doctor scared the living crap out of me by telling me what newborns have to go through if they get sick. It's been tough because of the weather and time of year. The fall is a beautiful time of year to have a baby, good luck

Katherine was born 9/7 and it's a great time of year. I remember going to the park with her at 6 days old.

Hayley was born 9/18. We took lots of walks in October, it was such a mild month. The fresh air is good for them too.

When the pediatrician says not to talk a baby "out", they mean "out in public", held by a lot of people, etc. You can take them for walks as long as they're dressed warm enough.

He was born Aug 29 and we went walking at about 2 weeks old.

my doc said walks you can do right away, she was a late august baby, but 7-8 weeks for the mall and supermarkets, etc..
