when i have a baby i want 1 baby shower i wouldn't want another Baby shower because i would just use my sisters clothes she had for her Son or daughter for my second plus whatever clothes i have from my first someday!

I agree, although, not my planning my aunt threw a shower for my mom when she was pg w/my sister. There are years between my sis, bro, and I and when my mom was pg w/my sis, by then all the baby stuff was gone or already given away.

When my mom was pregnant with brother, the whole time she thought she was having a girl. I am not sure why if the Dr gave her the wrong information, but her friends ended up giving her a baby shower after he was born, because all she had was girly stuff.

that's understandable. I feel if you choose to have more than one child then u carry the financial repsonsibilty with it. I know girls who tell their friends what they need and they plan their own luncheon's shower party. I personally boycott it but I end up getting a gift anyway bc politically u have too

I think it's acceptable in some cases --for instance: second marriages; many years between children; or in cases of multiples (my friend has a daughter and a few years later she gave birth to twin boys) And even in such cases, I think the party should be small and the guest list minimal.

I had a 2nd baby shower, BUT there were almost 7 years in between my children and Cassidy is from my 2nd marriage, so it was DH's 1st child.
